Through their Giving Back initiative, Swenson He will design and develop a custom mobile app to streamline communication between the nonprofit and the members it serves.

We are pleased to announce that the recipient of their Giving Back initiative is the Boys & Girls Clubs of Long Beach! We launched this program in an effort to help a non-profit organization in need of a custom mobile application to help them better serve their community.  

The Boys & Girls Clubs of Long Beach is a 501(c)(3) aimed to help young adults reach their full potential by providing an additional safe space outside of school.  While also providing food and supplies to at-risk youth, their all encompassing development programs include leadership, education, sports, health and wellness, arts, and career development.   Every year, the organization helps thousands of young people break the cycle of poverty by providing the tools they need to grow into successful adults.  While numerous charities were nominated through the Giving Back initiative, Boys & Girls Clubs of Long Beach’s application stood out for its immediate Covid-related needs in bridging the communication between the clubs and its members.  

“We are so incredibly excited and grateful to be chosen by Swenson He to help us do whatever it takes to ensure our Club members have great futures,” said Don Rodriguez, CEO, Boys & Girls Clubs of Long Beach.  “This recent crisis has brought to light some shortfalls within our organization and this new app will allow us to properly communicate with our Club members and their families all of the important programs and events to fulfill their basic needs that we have.”

Their new mobile application will make it easy for the organization to relay club hours, activities, news and other pertinent information to the parents and young adults.  The platform will also provide a messaging feature for members to contact the non-profit’s administrators directly.

This custom iOS and Android app provides many features including enabling Boys & Girls Clubs  of Long Beach members to:

• stay connected to the clubs with real time updates and news notifications
• view the calendar and sign up for events, sports leagues and other club activities
• contact the administrative team at the Boys & Girls Clubs of Long Beach 

As an ongoing effort to help non profit organization’s cope with the damage of COVID-19, Swenson He plans to continue their Giving Back initiative in the future, offering their pro bono services benefiting other quality charities.
